About

Dr. Constance Heidt is a Registered Psychologist (#2556) working in private practice. She received her PhD from the University of Saskatchewan in 2019 and began her career working at a children’s hospital for two years, providing services for mental health concerns within a medical setting. Since then, she has worked in private practice, providing a range of in-person and remote psychotherapy services to children (10 to 13 years old), adolescents, and adults. She uses a collaborative approach that focuses on each client’s individual needs and cultural preferences while ensuring treatment and techniques are proven effective for treating mental health concerns.

She understands the importance of the therapeutic relationship and strives to ensure her clients feel heard and understood. Her aim in the first session is to establish general treatment goals and discuss a treatment approach or a “road map” to help reach the client’s treatment goals.

She uses an integrative approach, including cognitive-behavioural (CBT), acceptance and commitment (ACT), and dialectical-behavioural therapy (DBT). She provides exposure and response prevention (ERP) to address symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and can offer prolonged exposure (PE) or cognitive-processing therapy (CPT) for symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other traumatic or stressful experiences.
